It was slightly more grounded without being gratuitous grimdark. Tonally it's kind of like the more mature cartoons of the 90s like BTAS and Gargoyles. It felt like a loving soft reboot of MMPR which didn't try to "subvert expectations" the only thing I thought was annoying was the Tommy wank but even then I like how they added the fan theory that Rita manipulated Tommy's desire for family and was kinda rapey with him.
Now after Shattered Grid it just become another woke garbage comic that shits on everything that came before. Fuck comic books.
