>>118533615Personally as someone who lived in South Carolina and religiously watched this show I was bothered that the entirety of depicting the south amounted to insane redneck cannibals living along a swamp when I (also religiously) watched the summer special.
But in retrospect, and even when I still really into the show, TT always felt like it's "eating people jokes" always veered into vore territory when compared to similar Looney Toons jokes. Hampton alone was nearly murdered at a meat processing facility, doused with special sauce that made the entire world try to violently eat him, was actually served as dinner at a Hawaiian luau, would have been chainsaw massacred by Mr. Hitcher, and the Summer Vacay movie in general. Meanwhile Sweetie has an entire episode where she tries to -force- poor Furball into eating her just for the sake of attention. It just felt really weird compared to LT shorts where you have at worst Taz (who eats any goddamn thing) being Taz or Yosemite Sam trying to cook Bugs before getting some kind of comeuppance.
Hell, even the Looney Toons Show managed to get it right when Taz kept trying to eat all those people and Bugs disciplining him like a dog; that was the joke and not something that felt way more creepy with personified animal characters just freaking out as someone tries to eat them alive.
