>>118447954it would be pretty cool though. that Amy the Squirrel animation up there? it wss made with a 16-bit computer and state-of-the-art desktop publishing hardware and software 30 years ago. todays' computers are faster, graphics tablets are better, paint programs more powerful... why aren't there a hundred artists this good producing this much?
Because money. Because anyone good enough to get a Patreon going is going to have all their shit stolen constantly and never make what they're worth. Or because most Americans are working two jobs to pay rent, or just got laid off and have to spend 8 hours a day trying to figure out how to stave off eviction. Or we've been evicted and have to pawn that graphics tablet for one night in a motel with a shower before a cop steals it.
i've been on e621 and seen what it's like when most of us manage to learn to draw. instead of practicing for 8 hours a day and getting up to those 10,000 hours, instead of having a proper art school to learn from, and instead of contributing to a real project with diverse frames to be drawn.... basically most people get good enough to draw characters naked and start uploading. The smart ones get good enough to draw YCH templates and sell mass-produced commissions. That's your best-case scenario.
who knows what effect a disney porn vault breach would have on the erotic fanart economy
