>>118405142It may just be a throw-away line for all we know, but that bit about the hard drive has me concerned. There was an early theory that Emmy will be (or will be accused of being) damaged or glitched, and sent in to be "repaired," when in reality she's simply replaced while being tossed out, and she somehow survives the trash heap.
With this backup hard drive in mind, that theory feels a bit more possible now, and the replacement is just placed on the charger before activating, now with all of Emmy's memories. A virtually perfect copy... except maybe lacking knowledge of whatever Emmy learned, said, or did the day she was supposedly sent in.
I know it's useless to speculate at this point, but it's got me wondering.
Also makes me wonder what kind of on-board storage Nandroids have. Probably an SSD or some space-age crazy high capacity RAM or something. But I do know that the Nandroids are just cute cartoon robots, so Dom might not have really cared to worry about that. This IS an "all ages" comic after all, so that sort of language would fly over even some young adults' heads.
