The blog, her pro-communist political stance, and her rich parents is side information that should have been revealed more naturally over time. That was it could have been better played out in a character arc for her. By putting it all up front and then getting her humiliated in a "gotcha" sort of moment, it makes her feel more like a strawman, or that she lacks depth, despite having a lot of potential for her character to go on.
