Yeah, giving her such a kinky powerset was a weird choice.

Her powerset and idolizing Carol Danvers are real big cringey negatives, and Marvels repetitive intros to their young characters has gotten formulaic and dull.

Give her a "careful what you wish for"/"history repeats" break by giving her a "Rogue" that takes her off the table for a few years, wipes her powerset, and trigger the simps tactics, even more, as they did with Carol.

On a scale of yikes to cringe her character manages to be both simultaneously for easterners. She's the west's dream of what a muslim easterner is like and what they think our definition of 'progressive' is. Marvel is ridiculously out of touch with reality when they try to push this character

She keeps floating around, getting the occasional big push and bad story lines.
She's appealing to marketing because she ticks quotas and she's had proven early success. Unfortunately all the things that made her successful early on probably aren't going to translate well into big pushes.

Nail on the head. Kamala got popular for being a fun, breezy book largely disconnected from everything. You can't really redo her comic appeal since the MCU has a fundamentally different structure and tone than the MU. Their best bet would be a pure Kamala game where she is that fangirl from Jersey who got powers and is superheroing on the periphery.

I hope so. Though it still has the issue of there being so few supeheroes, and superhumans in general, that they could all fit into a single room which means that circumstances would dictate that Kamala would be a big deal regardless.
