Take for example the entire Separatist shebang and how the droid army has been reduced to comic relief since RoTS and onwards. Okay, I get it, the people at the head of the CIS are a bunch of greedy megacorps, the droids are cheap as fuck and the entire conflict is being orchaestrated by Palpatine blah blah blah whatever. But... Can't people see that having the entire opposing side in a military conflict protayed in a manner so superficial, on its own, is a bad idea? How am I supposed to be engaged to the narrative and characters when I know HOW and WHO is going to win the battle since the very first minute? Where are the stakes when the antagonists are always treated like disposable trash unless they are about to lecture me on their sob story (if they even have one)?
Yeah sure, I guess you could say that the movies never directly disprove Ahsoka's existence, but why does she even need to exist?
What is the point of Padmé not being the electoral queen on her planet anymore by AoTC? How does Obi Wan and Anakin encountering Dooku and Grievous a bazillion times before RoTS magnify their respective final duel when all they do is fight and never interact in any other meaningful way? I suppose one could perfectly justify the existence of the clone chips after all, but is it really any better than the previous explanation, when all it contributes to the story is a fake sense of pathos for the clone army?
