I really like his surreal yet comedic art style. I think it's most amplified and shown in full force in Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon. It's vile, it's crude, it's disturbing, and it is ultimately disgusting. A perfect reflection of who John Krisfslusic is. Vile, crude, disturbing, and ultimately disgusting.
And because of that, I really hate John Krisfalusci. No amount of admittedly funny jokes and fancy drawings will ever excuse literal grooming of minors and being a general jackass to his staff.
Yet I still really like the original The Ren and Stimpy Show from the 90s. Knowing what he did only amplifies just how twisted the show can be at times.

I’d rather be Genndy. They both started working around the same time and look where they are now.
John K scammed everyone out of a kickstarter, and has little to no career. Meanwhile his art style has become so loose and far from what it was, it’s barely readable.
Genndy has never had a problem getting work, whether on cartoons or movies, does his own fair share of writing, and is working on Primal, the only American animated series, meant for an older audience, that’s based on an original concept.
John K had the life, for maybe 3-5 years. Tops. Genndy is still going strong after almost 30 years.

I just finished watching the entire series again yesterday and as others have stated they're the very definition of a mixed bag, you still have some episodes on par with the Spumco-era (To Salve and Salve Not, Ren's Bitter Half, I Love Chicken, Powdered Toast Man vs Waffle Woman, Egg Yolkeo, Ren Needs Help! etc.) but then you'll have some absolute stinkers (Virtually every episode starring The Scotsman, Feud For Sale, School Mates, all the National Geographic parody episodes) , I'm not the biggest John K. fag or do I believe he was what made the series what it was during its prime (his work after the series ended proved that) but the Games era felt like they were just doing what was expected of them rather than what they wanted which was a stable of the Spumco era and while the episodes actually came out on time they were in much lesser quality as a result. Despite everything I've said Bob Camp and Billy West still deserves some kudos for salvaging an absolute mess of a production due to John K.'s own self-sabotage and its really upsetting that the documentary didn't cover the Games-era seasons to drive the point home that the series was a team effort and wasn't just spearheaded by John and feel apart when he was fired.

Yep. Look at what happened when the ATLA team split up, Bryke made Korra (which had major issues), Aaron made Dragon Prince (which had major issues). Both series had good parts as well, but you can tell that what made ATLA work was a team effort.

As for John K., I think he's an example of a guy promoted above his level of competence.
