They need him to preserve their property, their loyal consumers and their image, while damaging that of their adversaries.
Danger Mouse doesn’t look at the bigger picture because he doesn’t need to. His ass is covered because without him, they’ll have wasted decades worth of positive association propaganda on a failed public icon that they need for influencing people through their indebtedness to him saving the world.
But he doesn’t know the behind the scenes shit, he might have surface level knowledge of the Secret Service’s secret scheme but he won’t know the details of how they’re infiltrating the media Operation Mockingbird style to use him as their spokesperson to command their followers. It’s almost religiously dogmatic.
Only someone higher up on the secret ladder would know about, disseminate and hide this agenda.
