Compliance as a strategy doesn't always work. He could easily take your money and decide to kill you anyway. And you're, in essence, leaving your life in the hands of a violent felon who's threatening to end it. I actually heard some liberals arguing over whether or not it's justified to shoot someone who's broken into your house.
"It's just stuff, are you saying that it's worth more than a man's life?"
An innocent man's life, no. The burglar's life is certainly worth less than my TV. It's less than worthless. He's a liability on society by existing and you'd be doing everyone a favor by taking him out of it. Besides that, we have no way of knowing why he broke into the house in the first place. He could be armed, he could have murderous intent. I'm not going to risk my life on behalf of some dirtbag who's probably going to rob and assault more people after he's done with you. Why do leftists always try to excuse the actions of violent criminals, at the expense of innocent victims? Why are they excusing it by saying he's desperate and poor even though most poor people aren't evil scumbags? Why are your expectations of the poor so low that you lump them in with horrible people?
