Anne woke up slowly, her head aching as though it had been hit with by a metal baseball bat. As her version became clear, she noticed that her arms and legs were in shackles. She was chained to the wall of the Plantar’s mysterious basement. Confused, she looked around to see if anybody was here with her. Could the Plantars have been captured alongside her by some devilish new foe?
Instead of some strange villain, Anne instead saw Hop Pop and a small band of frogs standing by the doorway.

Anne, who already felt famished, did not open her mouth again. Tears dripped down onto the cold stony floor.

“I warned you, Anne.” Hop Pop said as he took out a knife.
