Aang would have wanted a lot if kids and wouldn’t have stopped at 3 with only one Airbender. The airnomads didn’t raise their own kids or marry so they were probably banging their way across the globe during their travels, getting knocked up and knocking other people up. Aang should have had tons of kids.
At least Tenzin was trying. Though I thought it was a mistake for Pema’s pregnancy to result in a single child instead of twins.
