During the incident you mentioned and other incidents, there were countless twitter accounts raving about how Rebecca Sugar was a Nazi and that reliably happens every now and then with creators. Usually enough people eventually forget unless the person doubles down and turns out to be actually legitimately racist/alt-right, which happens sometimes, too. Yes some people stay offended but that is literally impossible to avoid if you make or do anything, once you get known or noticed, it's an absolute certainty tons of people will be offended by you, hate you, no matter what.
But just don't remember how huge and angry countless other blowups about every goddamn person in media or just public life were, the outrage is constant but people either move on or some fans have a mental breakdown because they can't deal with life (which does suck, but there's so much worse than this around everybody constantly, if they can't deal with this they can't deal with reality).
I'm not even saying that people don't have the right to be offended and upset at anything, but constantly flying off the handle at everything is dangerous to anybody's mental health and does nothing to improve any problems or help anybody. Nuance my friends.
