>>117158315>Why the fuck was Lobo in the movie? He's the entire introduction to Clark about the concept of aliens, and specifically he highlights there are really bad and evil aliens too.
> Couldn't they have Superman have a previous fight with the Parasite?Sure, he could just be a guy who already exists, but it was important to the overall narrative that we see him as a regular human being who was made to look like an alien by an alien and twisted because of it, essentially taking the worst parts of the concept of meeting new life and becoming a monster because of it to contrast Superman being raised under earthlings and taking the best parts of them with him, those same parts are how he eventually reaches the human. Human Parasite that we saw get changed matters more to Superman because it showcases how easily everyone would turn on him if he didn't look "Correct".
>>117158431>Why was the climax of the movie involving a mutated dude from Earth?Because that's the entire overall theme? Clark was sure he was different and they would hate him because of what he was, but by the end he understands humanity was more afraid of a human who had been in a terrible accident than him, a guy who literally came from space and was an alien. He put his fears on what he was rather than that the humans would fear a 'monster' in his place.
> Also the alien survivors band together in the end and... do jack shit.Correct, them being alien superbeings aren't what saved the day in the end. It was Superman reaching out to the humanity within him despite all the fear and the hatred of what he was that eventually saved the day. And only Superman could have done this, J'onn was too afraid to reveal himself and reach out to humanity, only other aliens, and Lobo couldn't give less of a shit. Both avoiding him and recklessly attacking him failed, but Clark was different. Being human, not being an alien, is how he saved everyone.
