Gay people need an outlit away from proper society so they make believe with other properties. While the board and low rungs of society read what these weirdos make and find it interesting since it's a world that doesn't exist as often. Just write out everything that comes to mind and force yourself not to edit. That works for me most of the time. Otherwise write how you want your chapter to end and work backwards
