And while there have been times that the comics touched on that, for the most part it's just been a regular comic strip depicting Superman as a person or action hero.
Same with other heroes. Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, most of their comic stories are simple hero or sci-fi fare and usually have relationship drama included. When you look at the actual comics and not just this outsider perspective of "dude dc heroes are gods pretending to be human wooooah", they're very much humans, especially as time went on and stories became more serialized with characterization becoming more important.
I'd say the closest character to a myth in the comics themselves is actually Batman. Because of the success of his graphic novels he has a very well established "canon" the same way Sherlock Holmes or The Spirit do. But I think more than that is needed to make a myth.
