Also it's a tie between the classic 1 and 7. Had a good chuckle when it turned out the edgy outfit and makeup and...apparently everything about the New 52 Circe was literally Rebirth Circe cosplaying as a generic supervillain to pass the time.

Adrianna Palicki honestly deserves it at this point. Jesus Christ she really wants to be in superhero type films, was in Smallville, a villain in the Aquaman pilot, played Diana in the Wonder Woman pilot that wasn't picked up (thank god), played Mockingbird in Agents of Shield & had her own spin off lined up but canceled and Lady Jaye in GI Joe Retaliation (which really should have got a fucking sequel)

Just give her a better outfit mother of Christ, pic related (aside from the acceptable cloth pants) was as bad as Smallville's Cyborg.

Good ideas, bad execution.
Bringing back Genocide and Devastation is a good concept but you shouldn't use them just as thugs for the biggest baddie. And Diana making Phantom Stranger jobbing will never not be stupid.
Dead Earth is going on good, the edgy trash is just here for being edgy.

Nothing much expect Diana to actually be Wonder Woman.
The previous movie showed how much the writers don't care about Diana by making her killing in her first appearence random soldiers.
So just make her not killing and don't waste a characte like Maxwell Lord like that, he should be a JL international villain.

Maybe a role in the Shazam sequel since now that Movieverse Diana is the daughter of Zeus you can connect some dots.
I know showing connection in shared universes is an heresy for you all, but it fits.

Current run is a lot like Jimenez's, except without the editorial interference excuse.
There's a clear vision to patch up some of the damage done to the character and I always appreciate it. Just like with so many characters, writers tend to just fall back on boring shit that doesn't utilize the characters' unique universes.

With Orlando, the more issues a storyline goes on for, the worse it is. Four Horsewomen went on like two issues more than it needed to, but I still ended up greatly enjoying the arc. The previous stories were better since they were just two issues each.

I'm really bummed it's ending so soon because at least Orlando really cared about the character enough to understand what she stands for, I can't say that for many of her writers the past decade.

I'd really like if Orlando got to at least do an Artemis or Donna series, or Tales of the Amazons. Jesus christ even fucking ROBLOX is getting Amazons content, I can't comprehend why Wondie doesn't have ONE additional book.

I'm just not excited for Tamaki's issues because it's such a boring pitch that once again uses absolutely none of the uniqueness of the character and sounds like another boring, phoned in comics storyline. I could not possibly be less interested in reading about Max Lord.

i liked Orlando very much, because he seemed to be the first writer to fully understand Wonder Woman as a character and actually be trying to patch her current fucked up continuity by trying his best to connect the best Rebirth has brought with some of the not-so-bad stuffs New 52 has done, but eventually i feel that he completely lost his hand and in the end he seemed more interested in using the ongoing as a vehicle to bring his OCs from the New 52 period back into relevance.
Like who the fuck cares about NuMaxima other than Orlando?

I hope the snyder verse concludes with his hbo series, hes a good director but needs to be reeled in by a good screenwriter. Snyderverse has so much plotholes and crumbly foundations that you cant build off of it. My main problem with NuMaxima is that Maxima was created so writers would stop throwing Wonder Woman under the bus. Maxima was everything the writers were using Wonder Woman for at the time: a haughty and cruel super-powered barbarian lady who was obsessed with Superman because he was powerful. She was created to spare Wonder Woman from that awful characterization.

So what Orlando do in the current run? Reminds everyone of the nice and queer Nu-Maxima who stands against patriarchy and sexism while at the same time resurrecting the awful SMWW relationship that had been retconed away in which Wonder Woman pretty much behave like the original Maxima. He basically shat on Wonder Woman in her own ongoing while elevating his version of Maxima.

I just couldn't understand that.

I don't mind NuMaxima that much, i just don't understand why Orlando created that character in his Supergirl run when during the same time Wonder Woman was pretty much being written worse than how the original Maxima was. Sure, Orlando wasn't writing the Wonder Woman ongoing at the time nor the Superman/Wonder Woman and Justice League ongoings. So he had no choice in what happened to Wonder Woman back then. But it still felt odd that here was Orlando caring about updating Maxima for the modern times while Wonder Woman was being ruined left and right by DC.

The original Maxima is almost a necessary character needed to shield Wonder Woman from this kind of awful shit. If you've Maxima, you don't need to use Wonder Woman. Is old Maxima kinda sexist? Yes, but so is Wonder Woman portrayal whenever they try to pursue the SMWW pairing. So you need the old Maxima.

The fact that Orlando decided to bring back NuMaxima in the current Wonder Woman ongoing WHILE also making the awful SMWW from New 52 period canon again felt like a really, REALLY stupid move.

I think more important question youre not asking is what is her secret identity? Who even is Diana Prince? Is she even secret about it? What is her human job? museum curator or embassador? Is she operating out of washington dc or themiscara? I feel like she has no conclusive secret identity, they are always switching it up or sweeping it away hoping we wont notice? Shes is no mild mannered reporter, or billionaire playboy, so what the heck is she? How would you write her human identity?

What OC's? NuMaxima wasn't his. That was some lesbian lady who wrote the last arc of the Supergirl new 52 series (and Andreyko was on backups).
He ignored NuMaxima when he wrote Rebirth Supergirl (but did include a few more turned-lesbians), but that same previous writer brought her back in Superwoman after Jimenez quit that.

The Eagle suit should also be used for something really big. This really movie doesn't really seem to warrant it. It looks hella good though.

In Perez run, her first appearance:

Circe made a deal with Hecate for her magic under Diana's moon. But it was prophecized that she would lose under the name of someone called Diana under the moon of Hecate.

So when Diana happened to come along toher island she immediately took her and tried sacrificing her to undo the prophecy. But it backfired and she lost.

After that she swore revenge on Wonder Woman.

Later she went under a false identity and lost herself within it. She got preggo'd by Ares (himself under another false identity).

Wonder Woman saved Circe from her abusive relationship, she had her baby, and then she fucked off (they were on good terms now).

But the she came back for revenge again and to take her daughter back. etc etc

About the Zeus thing, i find it hilarious that in the DCAU Hades was sorta of considered to be Diana's daddy because he and Hippolyta had a thing going on and when Hippolyta was fashioning Diana out of clay he was also there with his hands Patrick Swayze style. And in those she's paired with Batman romantically.

Then New 52 rolls out and they're looking to pair her with Superman, and they just sorta go and decided to make Zeus' her daddy.

Perez' run is hella good. But he did get rid of a lot of Wonder Woman's supplementary material.

So her side characters got taken away.
A lot of her background got taken away.
Amazons became a lot more generic.

And it's a problem that's been continuing until today.

Amazons are still barbarians.
Authors are constantly rebooting her.
She has no identity
Constant fighting between the gods who come and go in her stories.
Barely any villains that come back (even though he had 60 issues with her).

The movie version of Cheetah should have been tragic and sympathetic with her being a archeologist friend of Diana's who was cursed by some dark exotic god or cult like in Rebirth.

Perez couldn't let go of the pairing and wanted to do a GN that could be considered both in-canon and non-canon due to the Greek gods involvement where Wonder Woman would let herself have a one-night stand with Superman, but would left disappointed because she was going to expect a god in the sack while Superman would prove to be just... average. DC didn't let him do it because of that last part.

Not that this stopped DC editors for long, because after Byrne ended his Superman they tried again with Eric Luke's run on Wonder Woman following Waid & Ross' Kingdom Come.
Byrne during Kingdom Come production also threw another bitch-fest since DC at the time was selling Kingdom Come as the defacto future of the DCU and he'd learned that they'd be pairing Wonder Woman with Superman. Ross even tried to bully Byrne with pics of a pregnant Wonder Woman being held by Superman. Kingdom Come entire epilogue is a giant middle finger to Byrne.

I absolutely hate Action version and the Justice League animated movie version. I don't understand what the fuck they were thinking with that.

DCAU version has a few good moments but I don't get why they make her so cranky. The Viking Prince episode and Hawk and Dove episodes in particular.
The episode with the Ultimen or whatever they were called was actually pretty good.

This was also after Crisis on Infinite Earth. DC biggest reboot back then and that Perez had worked. Everyone - editors mostly - thought that Superman would go big under these writers pouched from MARVEL that were coming to reinvent everything and one of the big bold ideas they were itching to pull the trigger on since the late 60s was the Superman/Wonder Woman pairing. They thought that Superman and Wonder Woman would finally go big, together.

Then John Byrne happened.

There wasn't a relationship between Dick and Barbara before the fucking cartoon. Because the producers wanted to shock and put their fetish into the goddamn cartoon.

It was the fucking editors that killed Tim's dad so he could be reworked into a more cooler character now that he had this added angst.
It was the fucking editors that had decided to kill-off Steph to kick of their big cross-over event even before they let the writer turn her into a temporary Robin.

And the Titans story-line was about making Troy into some dangerous weapon yet again and it's Wonder Woman who treat the Titans as a problem that need supervision because the golem created to assassinate her and that she brainwashed into a little sister could go crazy any time.

I like First Born a lot too. In fact, one of the reasons I dislike the gods is that they're public domain.

First Born had a cool look and final form. He was obviously set to take Ares' place as Wondy's war god big bad.

Hope someone brings him back. I'd also like someone to change Circe's name to be more unique rather than the literal witch from the Odyssey.

WW isn't a better tactician as she has very little real world experience and is generally only trained for battle. Batman understands the human psyche far better than she could. And even then, WW not being a tactician is far, far better than being an utterly unlikable cunt that she is when shes with Superman, so much so that it has become her default characterization now.
