>>116257875Alright as someone who actually animates in their free time lemme just say, This segment is not actually a really good representation of "Good" Animation. It's serviceable and even very well done in some regards visually but it all suffers in timing and ruins what could otherwise be something truly good.
To give credit where credit is do the scene has lovely layout work, the actions are recognizable and the camera work allows each action to be telegraphed so that the view never get lost in the scene. The character models are on point and keep their volumetric consistency even when performing an exaggerated action.
But it all falls apart with it's timing. The actions have no real impact and the characters are unbelievably floaty staying in mid air for far too long than they should. Even if the idea is that they have levitation abilities their slow drawn out movements make it feel like the characters are moving through Jello rather than actually flying around in a death defying fight. It's such a shame especially since this could be so easily fixed by just cutting out frames and allowing for ease ins and ease outs to actually serve their purposes in exaggerating the movements.
I understand why people think this is good animation, because it has great layout. But honestly if the timing is wrong than the animation is bad.
