Ozymandias, of both the poem and the actual historical figure (Ramesses II), didn't lead to or cause ruin, his civilization and himself achieved greatness which the poem postulates withered away over time. It's about the inevitability of decay, not the onset.
If the name has importance, then my bet is that we're seeing the creators play off the idea that Ramesses II/Ozymandias was the Exodus pharaoh. Instead of driving humans out however, he represents joining them again in some way with the elves, which fundamentally is what the endeavour to return him home involved.
That or they just reconfigured a popular and exotic sounding name of royalty and called it a day. My above hunch honestly relies on some shakey ground.
