>>115693515I'm not a fan of cnn either. I think we need to get out of our echo chambers more
>>115696870Of course not. But when the uneducated rally to say the majority opinion of the educated is incorrect without backing up any of thier beliefs or assertions, thats a bad thing for society. We all rely on each other for our specialization.
>>115697007I wasn't talking specifically about red and blue, but the large outcry against academia in general. There have also been a lot of great breakthroughs about emotional intelligence and how to better apply those intelligences to real world situations to your benefit. Emotions are not the opposite of intelligence.
>>115698165>The woke ideology gaining tractionAs far as I can tell "woke" people are just people who understand larger societal context and use it to empathize with demographics they do not belong to. This wokeness has largely been a good thing, as it allows fringe groups to borrow the power of other, more powerful demographics to effect positive change.
I don't really get why people find it annoying, unless you are unfairly advantaged by the current system and are threatened by the idea of change.
>>115698434I don't even know how to respond to this. In what ways does it "break down when looking into it more"? If you agree that change needs to be made, congrats, we are more on the same side then not. Putting aside the obvious moral implications of an oppressing ruling class, do you think that the people, right now, who have the ability to change things to the benefit of everyone else, are historically more likely to advantage themselves with that power, or everyone they've excluded from thier in group? Elitism is a mental disorder. It keeps people from being able to empathize and everyone likes to believe that they've earned everything they have when they are living in excess.
>>115699189That's more to do with echo chambers and intentional misdirection.
