But by finding out things just below the surface they can appear to be more intelligent. By comparing x event to history, culture, philosophy or psychology. Or finding a lesser known movie fact. Really you get more knowledge from doing your own research or reading a book. All ecelebs do is find a few lesser known facts and repackage them. I can't can't count the youtubers who I've spotted their book shelves, googled a few of the books and found where all their vague opinions on culture come from. /co/ youtubers are even worse because 90% of them rely on wikis or buy products to fill shelves without reading them.
Knowledge is cheap, anyone can google. But we human beings want to be entertained while we are informed. Then to use that information to pretend we are better than others. Unfortunately there is no real youtubers combining knowledge, intelligence and enthusiasm on subjects. Instead we are subjected to people who are thoroughly average who believe themselves to be above average or intelligent endlessly regurgitating the same things over and over again.
