>>115291781>>115292052nah man, i have my own versions of "background noise" too, and i probably still have plenty of things that are dangerously close to what i've tried to swear off. but now i at least try to seek out something that can do more for me than simply let me forget about mortality for an hour. i now seek something with a modicum of craft. even if the only craft is editing, at least that's better than watching someone long-windedly bungle through an uninformed take while they're being distracted by the shitty Steam game they're shilling this week.
the friendship simulators were like junk food, they didn't give me the energy to seek out real human connection, and even when i was having a real human interaction, they deprived me of fuel for conversation or insight.
i'm just saying, at least be wary, and notice what it's doing to you. because even if you're looking for low-lift trash, you probably still deserve better. isn't that what cartoons are for?
i've been there, just tryna say what i wish i'd heard i guess.
>>115292091yeah. but i think i get a lot more from actively interacting here at least. sharpens my chops in a few useful ways.
