>>115238533Nope, Robinson's Starman series is definitely the best thing he's ever written.
It's also horrendously out of print, and collected poorly in general.
The first set of trades (starting in the 1990s) collected entire story arcs. Except, Robinson frequently wrote "Times Past" issues, in which a different artist (not the regular guy Tony Harris) would draw a flashback story. Robinson had some say over how the series was collected, and he decided to skip out on those issues in favour of full arcs. I think there was eventually a trade collecting all the one-shot "past" issues planned, but I can't remember if it actually came out.
Then from 2008-2011, DC put out six "omnibus" hardcover releases that collected everything, and I mean everything, that was relevant to Robinson's series. That includes stories from Showcase issues, the four issue Shade miniseries (years later Robinson wrote another), the Hellboy crossover, Stargirl's #0 issue, etc.
That got two softcover releases, but the third was cancelled due to poor sales (DC over printed the softcovers of vol 1 and 2, thinking they would be a hit) and Robinson angrily leaving DC over the editorial fuckery of his Earth 2 New 52 book.
In late 2019 they announced "Starman: The Cosmic Omnibus Vol. 1," a massive 1520 page omnibus collecting half of the series. It was cancelled for reasons unknown, especially since it never came up for ordering.
It's a great series that is all about Legacy
