>>115202587I remember my book fairs, most of the stuff was like $5-7 books, with cool toys and junk that was a few bucks each, at most you had the Guinness Books for like $15, but no one really bought those and they only had a few copies.
Then came the Harry Potter books, suddenly everything was full retail price, which wasn't the point of the book fair, it was so kids could get books cheaper than normal and foster reading, instead companies used it as a means to just sell their stuff to a broader market and the school I went to stopped doing it since you could just go to the store and buy the book there. It was at that point a waste of time to have one since no one was going to buy anything they couldn't just pick up in a walmart or target.
