Everybody familiar with that storyline knows it *looked* bad, yes Billy is really a kid but nobody on the JSA knew that. Folks who don't know the story, dont know the story and the spin is wasted. Why bother?
This is just one of the places that the "wisdom of Solomon" power falls apart. The interesting aspect of Captain Marvel/Shazam *is* that its Superman being piloted by a kid. But one of the powers is wisdom. Its inherently contradictory, you either get non-wise kid actions (which are interesting) or you get super-wise adult actions which removes everything unique about the character.
Anyways, wisdom-of-Solomon Shazam should've been perfectly aware of how bad his relationship with stargirl came across. And he should've had the wisdom to share his secret identity with Jay and Alan at least.
