Red Hood is the thing you point to when everyone points out bullshit like Red Son or Hush or Killing Joke "Had to make changes", it made a lot of changes, but the important part was it changed things in order to make the story flow better. You don't need a lot of setup with diplomatic immunity and all that bullshit, Joker killed Robin and Ra's Al Ghul regrets being a part of it so he brings him back. Less complicated and Ra's means more to Batman and his story than middle eastern politics, and more importantly it helps Jason's character. You can make changes, sometimes you have to make changes, but why do the changes in recent DC movies seem to only serve to make the stories worse? Why dumb stuff down instead of adding another layer of complexity like "How much of Jason's actions are his own, and how much is because the Pit "Turned him Rabid", the latter makes the audience actually think about what he's doing and question how much is him, but what the fuck does making Bizzaro say "America first!" make them question?
