What you're starting to realize now is that in spite of the culture here of getting validation out of hating things and people and especially people's opinions, you, like everyone, desires to enjoy things you genuinely enjoy. But that kind of sincerity is antithetical to the roiling self-loathing that fuels the vast majority of interactions on this website.
Now, I'm not saying that getting out of here will magically solve your problems - this kind of thing happens wherever people have a modicum of anonimity online, so basically everywhere. But at the same time it's difficult to do any worse, and at least some degree of consistent positive interactions can already be a huge breath of fresh air - I know it was for me.
You might also want to read up on the New Sincerity movement - if you're going to find adult-oriented positivity in storytelling there's a good chance someone will have connected the media in question to that movement. So it's as good a place to start as any.
