>>114797983Same. Its a legitimately good movie. I love movies that try to do something new, and in a very over-saturated industry (animation), Titan A.E. did a lot that you can't hope to even see today. Its a post-apocalyptic sci-fi film that can be violent and raunchy but without over doing it to the point of being edgy. The plot can be a bit too overdone in the world of Sci-Fi, but compared to your typical bland modern Animated American film its pretty good. The worst thing you can say about it is that its CGI effects sucked; apparently Bluth was forced to use CGI, which, despite what idiots tell you, costs more, which helped to cripple the movie financially.
>>114802066>Too dark for children but too childish for adults.Funny, you just described the pg-13 audience, and THAT IS what they should have shot for, instead the movie was rated PG, hell I saw it in the theaters when I was 6 years old. What they should have done is push for pg-13 and market it like crazy to teenagers, maybe ads on mtv, teen-magazines, whatever the fuck teens liked in the late 90s/early 00s.
This is one thing that irks me about Western animation is that focuses so much on only two demographics:
>Kids>AdultsBut not teens, which are a very profitable demographic. That's where anime ends up filling the void, due to the countless animes that target that teen demographic. Why do you think certain kids become Otakus during their teens?
