>>114786152Very possibly. I knew a couple guys in junior high and high school that were kind of like the Eds. Very rough around the edges and poor communication skills, full of energy and the vigor of youth. (Which kind of sucked since we sat inside most of the time. But that's the problems with modern education systems now days and a topic for another time elsewhere.)
One of the guys eventually blew a gasket and picked a fight and sadly after that never came back. I don't know if he was expelled or his parents withdrew him. I didn't dislike him but I wonder where he went. I think he wasn't doing really well anyway and maybe the incident was an opportunity for change for him.
The other guy... well he stuck around. He was there for about 8 years that I knew him. Also rough guy... but over those many years, we got the measure of each other. Just sort of learned he wasn't a bad person, just couldn't really stay quiet that much and liked to be loud and make jokes and barely followed the rules. (Always felt like he might be a small bit dangerous.) In the end... we were sort of friends. I take hope with that. The guy looked me up decades later trying to apologize for being such an ass or a bully in high school, but I told him all this and basically said "Don't worry. We knew you were okay. You were one of us... maybe we were never friends but you were one of the class."
