As for the joke, it's more about Namor being too much of a Pleb to appreciate gingers. Remember, in DATMOE he hired Princess Python to act as the object of desire/lust/temptation. He's generally into darker colors, from chestnut brown to black, and being a sorcerer, I can see him prefering a redhead to a blonde. There have been AUs and fantasies where he fucks Sue though, but I've always assumed that it was less that he liked her, and more that he wanted to one-up REEEEEEchards. His more succesful relationships have been with Wanda (who goes from Chestnut Brown to Auburn Red to Black) and Morgan (eho goes from Purple, to Deep Red, to Black).
