>>114603043>They often have their story to tell and they do just that, very rarely are characters replaced in the same way. People are often over blowing the supposed "demeaning" against men in comics. It's really not that much of a problem unless you try and make it one or if it's as blatant as they can make it. Not every modern comic is saying "fuck men because they exist" but plenty of people like to pretend they do so that they can be outraged and complain. You don't get to decide if it's a problem or not, it's each individual reader's right to do so. I feel it's a problem. A lot of stuff I enjoy in comics, like cheesecake is gone. Not only that, characters I have enjoyed, like Tony Stark, are written as punchlines constantly. Stark used to be a good friend and mentor to Danvers, now we have panels about him crying that her being powerful made him feel emasculated. Tony was never like that before, he never would have minded a powerful woman.
There are other issues too. For example, imagine cyclops and logan arguing. Logan can say
>Shut up, or I'll skewer younow, emma and storm arguing. Storm could say
>shut up, or I'll light you up.If Storm and Logan argued, storm could say
>shut up, or I'll light you upBut logan will never say to a woman he's friends with
>shut up, or I'll skewer youWomen get to casually threaten violence to men. men can't. That sucks. They're both equally powerful and dangerous, it should go both ways.
We get men in beefacke shots all the time, even in the mcu, we haven't had good mcu cheesecake since the first Avengers. Similar imbalance in comics.
>"waaah, but no one says fuck men because they exist"You think this is where the bar is?
No.
Not in the slightest.
No one would mind marvel's diversity push if it didn't also include stuff like I mentioned above.
Thinking crap like that should get a pass because no one outright says "men are subhuman" is pathetic.
No.
