>>114582494>A lot of woke people are just woefully misguided and misledThe majority of entertainers for decades have legitimately believed that their commentary-based entertainment serves as activism. No matter how "on point" George Carlin is or how "Woah, that's still relevant today" All in the Family is, that shit doesn't actually impact society in the way that Hollywood liberals THINK it does.
Entertainment reflects the times, it doesn't change them. And I can't believe when we had four straight years of celebrities and media dumping on Trump and he still got elected, all these people still believe they have the power to change society when in reality, all people want from these celebrities is either to watch them and forget about their own boring life for a bit or pretend they have a friend via parasocial relationship. They're not looking to Steven Universe as a way to progress the LGBT movement.
That doesn't mean I think making these shows are pointless, they are still good entertainment. But they're not as societal changing as showrunners think they are. Including more girls leads in cartoons isn't doing jackshit for society, only entertainment.
