I think there will be small measure of improvement when it comes to the Cabs because now they're united in a goal of getting a chance to play for a real group of people at a ritzy place. What I think is going to drag them and by extension the episode down is how many people are going to be involved. Factoring out them, there's still 8 other people jockeying for screentime and Daisy and the party host. It's crowded when the situation should have been ideally, the Cabs and Daisy. Ideally Daisy and Donald should have gotten their own episode and a second episode could have had the amigos trying to get into a party. They're really trying to push the Caballeros and Daisy while also going with Louie's plan. There's not enough time to pull both off imo while doing them justice.

I liked Lot3C Daisy. She was good for Donald in being his spitfire ex-girlfriend and provided welcome breaks in all the adventure. While not a global threat Daisy provided the personal conflict for Donald and a secondary goal that's resolved by the show's end. I think for Ducktales Daisy feels much more tacked on. Donald wasn't exactly pining for a partner and hasn't missed his college band mates either. The fanny pack in this season's episode was the only reminder of Donald's reunion with them and not even the moonvasion caused him any worry for his pals and they weren't deemed allies enough to Della's to hide with the kids. The clip of Daisy and Donald show some potential with Daisy getting pulled into Donald's clumsiness, but really it feels like Donald's love life was a non-issue that only cropped up because they wanted to tack on Daisy Duck at least once.

The people who post these twitter screencaps paint a picture of this group who see Lot3C's women characters, Daisy and Xandra mainly, as badly handled. It's funny because even the diehards against Daisy here have had their views challenged by those interpreting Daisy in a positive light and a grudging consensus is the spa episode was the one stumble on her character. April, May, and June are beloved here for their support throughout the show and I've no idea as to the specifics of these people's problems with Xandra. Most twitter garbage posted should honestly be ignored. Making one's own opinions here is much more valuable than blatant outside muckraking.

She runs a discord full of teen girl fujos who were pissed when an episode last season had launchpad eyeing penumbra and a few of them threatened the crew over it because they ship him exclusively with drake/darkwing and the crew had to assure them that lp/penumbra would never be canon. She in particular had a bunch of tweets about how she was physically ill over the implication that LP (who is bi) might have a hetero crush but they’re gone now
She also was very hands on in a ship war where some of the lp/drake people harassed and doxed people who shipped Della with launchpad and the crew had to step in and tell them to stop because it was reflecting badly on their attempts to get an actual canon gay relationship in the show
It’s all very stupid but kind of hilarious

Daisy is pissed off at her dress being ruined and Donald is following Louie's plan to steal Daisy's purple tag in order for T3C to expand their career from the help of Daisy's boss at her ball. The plan fails as the elevator breaks and Donald gets tangled between Daisy's purse. Daisy takes off her coat and reveals her dress as shown on the pictures. Donald is amazed. Daisy rants about how her boss doesn't see her potential and asks Donald to sing for her. Donald does sing, which sounds horribly at first, until his voice clears and is able to sing in baritone. Then the pics in the replies happen as they dance while Donald sings. It's then revealed that Donald's clear singing was all in his imagination, as the scene goes back to him singing horribly.

What’s so great about the romances in this show? Gandra has barely appeared outside of one episode and Goldie is far more interesting with Louie than with Scrooge. With only one episode, I doubt they’ve done anything groundbreaking with Daisy at this point.

What I'm getting from this show are Jose and Panchito are absolute attention whore drama queens who care more about personal wealth and fame that they could receive over their friendship or anything else
Which... I know Ducktales rewrites other characters but holy shit at least they keep some aspects of who they are. These characters are so foreign and distant OCs, like their only exposure to the Caballeros is that one weird comic where Panchito and Jose gun duel for a girl. People might compare the two Daisys but compare the two Cabs too because it's night and day which is more accurate and likable

I can understand your fustration because all of fowl agents have their episode but not him saddly.

I feel he will show up when the scrooge family have all the treasure ( except the eye diamond ) and than fowl will be exposed so he can get out of this building and take off his costume.

I don't think he will show up in the 2 last episode before hiatus. and for the halloween ep i heard this is a hs episode so no fowl story contuinity but he can be here i guess.

BTW, I really dug how they gave Donald some fighting action but ultimately Daisy had the big physically violent confrontation against Falcon (which further endeared her to Donald) and Donald had the big -verbal- confrontation against Glamour (which further endeared him to Daisy). Yes, Louie wasn't bad, though I don't like that version of Louie, but he certainly turned out well in the episode, unlike the previous ones. After all, April, May, and June in the Caballeros are better for me than Huey, Dewey, and Louie in Nu-Ducktales, and I can say that it's the right distinction and giving the traits right, but the voices are good, unlike in the Nu-Ducktales, where every child speaks as a student. Just to emphasize, I liked the new episode with Daisy Duck.

I was hoping the wonky José/Panchito portrayal in their debut episode had just been a consequence of a weak plotline, but after seeing this episode I can safely say that the DT17 crew fundamentally doesn't understand what makes the Cabs great as characters. They've never been this mean-spirited, and getting riled up over nothing is Donald's job, not José's or Panchito's.
I guess I'll just have to accept that this is DT17's version of the Cabs and leave it at that, but it honestly feels like a waste of screentime for characters that already get barely any content as it is, and it's a real shame.

Anywho, Daisy was great, and her and Donald are cute, so overall a good episode.

Otherwise, you want better animation than DT17 without the Legend of the Three Caballeros? Here are some examples that had great animation: The Caballeros movie, Ducktales movie, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Goofy Movie, Quack Pack, Fantasia 2000 movie plus a few Italian comics. If the DT17 had done so plus some settings around the characters and features, it would have been great. Like this, it just barely attracts fans. It's okay for kids to like it and others who love it, but please respect the criticism a little too. I certainly don't like the DT17.

This was a fun episode but a lot of it made no sense, like Daisy escaping through the vents at the last minute when she could have done it before, and the bad guys falling in love with Deweys trick despite them not being part of that elitist “it” crowd. Panchito trying to be the charmer instead of Jose shows to me that the writers have no idea what the 3 caballeros really are beyond their main theme.
And while the message of the episode was about hearing others, the cabs never learned that lesson, just the kids.

Honestly don't know if this version of the Cabs or the version in their first House of Mouse appearance was worse (which weirdly enough the second was fine). I don't know how they could miss the key value of what made them work when it was quite literally thrown out at you during their song. It's such a misfire for quite popular characters in the fandom to make them like this. Jose isn't even really a charmer or Panchito crazy either, so they don't even feel like the right characters. With how strong the characters are especially with Donald it feels like more ammo that could have really enhanced the series that they failed to use
I looked online and many people are simply ignoring to bring up the Caballeros when they are discussing this episode and are sticking to Daisy. Like everyone knows they fucked them up bad but don't want to bring it up

Step back from how Daisy and the Cabs were interpreted (which is what anyone is talking about) and the structure around the episode itself is weak. They let Donald sing for their big break despite it being established he can't, they have trouble getting on a simple stage despite the vast connections they have, the episode ends abruptly

What makes you think that they couldn't make a script specifically for a movie-length special episode that doesn't have to conform to be eventually cut in several part if a TV broadcaster wants to make more episodes out of it?
It's rather the other way around that is far more difficult. Movie scriptwriters tend have more troubles having to shorten down a plot into half the time while still keeping up all the essential elements.

Very sad. I, for one, don't like the Quack Pack episode at all (it barely had anything to do with the series I love and which ruined it for me in part), especially because of the change in Donald's voice. I'm glad he has a person who understands Donald like Daisy and caballeros, but unfortunately his family absolutely does not, especially his nephews he was raised by and his sister. In doing so, they broke my heart and heightened my feeling for Donald. I'm glad Donald found his fortune, but again Daisy Duck shouldn't be Donald's only consolation, which is the worst problem in the series. I'm also glad they changed Daisy both in appearance and in features for the better, which I haven't seen in a long time since House of Mouse, where Daisy Duck was brilliant.

Well, it was a good and goofy episode, full of fucked up gags and non sequiturs.
I loved the way as Daisy was introduced, also loved how she got an unique body type as opposed of being just a Donald head swap, and I loved how her obvious future relationship with Donald was built on each other's sensitive AND violent sides at once. Donald's song made me tear up a little like a little faggot, too.
So yes, this episode was about as good as it could have been, in the good sense of the expression. Not bad, not bad at all.

There are legit issues with the art direction of the characters (especially how certain Disney Afternoon characters were translated to the DT17 art style).

However, art direction?animation quality and the quality of the animation is quite decent. Granted, at its worst, it can look quite stilted but, at its best, DT17 can easily go toe to toe with 90s syndicated cartoons like Animaniacs, Darkwing Duck, and Talespin.

He won against the Beagle Boys, the shadows, Gizmo Duck's possesed armor, the zombies and the human audience from Quack pack because they were too dumb to know how to fight, but put him against a trained opponent and Donald loses, rage or not.

Like I'm very glad Daisy exists both because the nuDaisy seems fun and because it seems to be the ONLY context in which NuTales will give Donald a single inch of slack

If they wanted to have him 'use his words' he needn't have gone sailor rage before jobbing. They did it specifically so Daisy's rage could over shadow his. Which hurts because raging out is all Donald has in this show.

My complaint is that Louie was once again put down for his schemes. I really had thought that with the goal being somewhat noble and in the interest of his Uncle Donald, the plan would've gone smoothly and within reason. Yet Dewey all throughout the episode's got to be this downer and Mark's mom delivers a verbal smackdown. I think seeing Louie's feelings being hurt would've made a much better catalyst for Donald and Daisy's anger over some contrived last minute robbery. Daisy could've held off Graves for the Cabs rushing the stage and Donald lays into Emma.

Nah I think truth is somewhere in the middle. It depends on the ppponents so sure but also on how mad Donald is. He wasn't all that mad against Falcon here. Last week he got Mad and held his own against a monstrous creature several times his own size. As a kid he could subdue a wendigo too.

You could make a case for the encounter with the moon guy but I'd say Don was at a disadvantage because he was also more concerned about sending a message to Earth than he was truly pummeling that guy.

Make Donald believe they kids were ALREADY dead and I can guarantee Moon Guy would have cried for his mommy.

It was the third best cartoon that came out this morning so it's not that good but compared to other episodes this season I'd say it was quite good indeed.
Only the mermaid episode was better and that was more me getting amused at meta jokes than enjoying the episode outright. I liked the song in Launchpad's ep but didn't like their integration of Rescue Rangers. Those would be the only two in the running to be equal or greater.

Webby becoming disenchanted with Scrooge, Donald, and mermaids is probably meant to show that she's maturing somewhat. Which is good don't get me wrong, but oddly enough this episode I feel like she got debuffed. She's taken on things stronger than Graves and had a whole joke about being able to escape simple ropes. It's funny even when they do something right they manage to do it in an unsatisfying way. I probably would've even taken Webby being against Louie's plan and cutting Dewey out entirely. It would've built on their whole difference of ideals brought up in the harpy and mermaid episodes of exploitation versus selflessness.

This wasn't a webby episode you loser. We didn't need more webby. She had just enough screen time not to be obnoxious or steel the spot light.
Not every episode has to be about her character arc (or lack their of because she's a major sue). And she jobbed, just like Donald, because this is a Daisy and Cabs ep and it's their turn to shine.
Webby has been needing to get depowered for ages. Hopefully they keep her like this. It would do a lot to redeem her character which is currently insufferable and forced on the audience unceasingly.

One of the shows out today is Kaguya a comedy about two domineering over-achievers who are into each other trying to get the other one to make the first move so they aren't the sub in the relationship
The music is superb (season 2 tries but it's hard to beat an opening like season 1).
The comedy is good and the romance, while central is understated and lacking in melodrama (instead being used as a catalyst for jokes and scenarios more often than not with a smattering of warm moments throughout)

Personally I'm delighted with the focus Don has gotten this season and don't really NEED these two to have their own shared screentime. It'd be nice but I'd much rather see Don/Della episodes. There's a ridiculous goldmine of potential for these two that will be criminal if not taken advantage of. Ditto for Donald/Scrooge and more Daisy.
