Not only was it more mature but it also didn't feature a particularly diverse cast, it was a strong dudebro show where only women who were love interests showed up to specifically be love interests. That's the only reason behind its particular treatment over others' on the network I can think of. It being more mature than usual loses its value as a reason since it notably tamed itself down around 2014.
Making a popular series that helped be a huge turning point for the network after it's near death at the start of the decade, and then making another one, you'd think that reputation and status would have slightly more affect. They refused to ever mention it again, it shouldn't have had to be JG's job to keep people aware of its existence, but between him probably not knowing and not having a strong online presence, it was assumed to be shelved. Going for over 2 years without a word was bullshit and I always personally felt they didn't treat him on the same level as the other content creators for CN or TBS. Obviously he's not the only one to be fucked over but no one else had their show burned off without fanfare, sometimes a completely different day schedule shift with no announcement, and then their next show lined up in production completely ghosted to everyone for 2 years.
tl;dr no they probably don't hate him, it just really comes off that way, especially being there and experiencing how shit RS was treated for its last seasons and bits and pieces you could find from the crew about the cancellation and how the final season had to cut half its story while AT got another renewal, big finale fanfare, and a post-script series of one hour specials, along with its entire series being released on home video (seasons and a full artistic box set)
