They tried to sell her as this huge deal, pretending she was the MCU's first big heroine which in turn kind of insults characters like Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, and Wasp. Her solo movie sucked because she's this unlikable mary sue who doesn't really struggle with anything, and when she showed up in Endgame she was this flying brick that practically made every other Avenger we cared about look like a ineffectual joke. The fucking Hulk loses one on one to Thanos, yet Carol needs the power stone to get KOed.
The best comparison you could make is between her and Wanda. When Wanda gets snapped back, her fight with Thanos is fantastic, because we have investment in her character and it becomes satisfying to see her vent her rage against the man who took everything from her. Carol? Oh she just comes in at the end to destroy the ship so everyone can look at her like the savior who turned the tide of battle. Fuck that. In fact the Russo Bros were even aware of how forced she was, because she's hardly in Endgame at all.
