That's what makes it impressive.
It's an animated movie based on a kids novel based on Sherlock Holmes and very little was lost in translation, aside from the heavier stuff like his drug abuse.

The first heavy use of CG in a Disney animated film (The Black Cauldron had some CG mist but it was barely noticeable). It shows its age, but the phenomenal direction and dramatic presentation makes up for it. Very memorable scene.

If people really re-evaluated these movies they'd realize that The Little Mermaid is a masterpiece but the rest of the renaissance is not as good, especially since they adopted CAPS which made the animation soulless.

I'm impressed. IMO, I always hated the chandelier scene in Beauty and the Beast because it looks so old\primitve now, but this CGI looks like it's part of the scene and flows great!
