That ‘98 version is also kind of a really complicated situation - legally that movie’s monster is a version of Godzilla but Toho (the company responsible for Godzilla) has also used the ‘98 version as an entirely separate monster dubbed “Zilla” and had it fight the “real” Godzilla in 2004 and in the IDW comics
