>Ronny Chieg ("Crazy Rich Asians") has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS in an undisclosed role. Insiders are reporting that he is playing Takeshi Matsuya, a wisecracking computer hacker who works alongside the title hero.
>Simu Liu ("Taken") headlines the cast, which includes Tony Leung ("Ip Man") as the Mandarin; Awkwafina ("The Farewell") in an undisclosed role, said to be Shang-Chi's half-sister Cursed Lotus; and Florian Munteanu ("Creed 2") as one of Shang-Chi's opponents, Razorfist. Rosalind Chao ("Mulan") and Michelle Yeoh ("Star Trek: Discovery") are also reportedly part of the ensemble, with Chao playing Shang-Chi's mother and Yeoh playing "a powerful and mysterious figure connected to the Mandarin".
>The movie follows Shang-Chi as he is recruited by the MI-6 to infiltrate an ancient underground martial arts tournament in order to prevent the Mandarin and his followers from obtaining the eponymous ten rings and using their power to awaken the mighty dragon Fin Fang Foom to help them conquer the world. Casting is underway for Shang-Chi's allies Leiko Wu, Clive Reston and Black Jack Tarr; and the Mandarin's followers Moving Shadow, Midnight Sun, Steel Claw and Ghostmaker.
