>>114146845I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, based on my knowledge of Pen’s actual interests beyond AT and my actually pretty extensive relationship w Duncan’s podcast (like seriously it’s weird I feel like I’m the only one ITT who’s coming from Duncan’s fanbase instead of Pen’s.)
In short, Duncan is an obnoxious lunatic who also just happens to be one of the clearest heads in the Western Hemisphere when it comes to, yeah, death, religion, and the other stuff I mentioned here
>>114147243. Hes kind of an onions Joe Rogan, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.
So you’re probably right, but these guys are the perfect team to *actually do a good job.* In fact, even if the show sucks, I can almost guarantee that it WILL make a lasting, potent, and relatively accessible point about death (or w/e the show is about) and hopefully open people up to some valuable and affirming concepts that are normally reserved for people really deep into eastern mysticism or psychedelic culture. I’m more worried that it will just be a preachy mess if Pen isn’t on top of things, because it already sounds like Duncan is just playing himself. He is truly, heartwarmingly brilliant, but he shouldn’t be in charge.
Duncan is tight with Dan Harmon, by the way. Just saying.
