Many Golden Age and some Silver Age comic books still lack clean or high-resolution scans. Reprints tend to fill that void, but personally I always liked being able to find individual issues.

>>113991857Not necessarily. Scanning technology has improved to the point that even very fragile books can be scanned in high resolutions with little or no damage to the existing material. That's for books, mind you; with comics you wouldn't have to worry about damaging the binding material.
So no, you would not need to take apart a comic book to scan it in.
