>What is this thread?
Every Wins'day at Win-O'-Clock we gather here and post links to the latest scans and rips of comic books.
Most links we uploaded ourselves, others we are sharing from elsewhere.
Some comics we've even purchased ourselves (but most we didn't).
If you'd like to help out, just ask and we would be delighted to tell you how.
Otherwise, be patient, be polite, and understand the simple concept behind these words: Not posted means not available yet.
>Where can I find old Win-O'-Threads?

http://boards.fireden.net/co/search/subject/Official%20Win-O'-Thread/
(Note: This finds the OP for old threads. If you want to search for comics in the archive, clear the subject field!)
>Where can I find downloads for other comics?
Warez forums/blogs, DDL-indexing search engines (like FilesLoop), torrent trackers (like ETTV) and other P2P networks (like DC++).
If a link has been posted on 4chan, you can search for it in the Desu archive (add "http*" to searches to return only posts with links).
If all else fails, just >buy it.
>Where can I buy comics?

If I buy some raw manga and rip them, where is the best place for me to upload them so they spread to all the Japanese blogs and shit without me needing to seed a bunch of small torrents and is there some secret club with way more manga that the blogs don't upload on purpose? Or archived uploads from a decade ago where there's lots of old blogs mentioning them from when they were new but the links are now all dead? I've always found it suspicious how little manga they actually do upload. You'd think they'd at least rip free manga or something (unless they are all just using local libraries and don't see the need).

>>113997925 Looks like Brian Hibbs' crying about digital copies worked.
Last week he was telling publishers that returnability, not "deep discounts" on ordering would be more useful. Then this week, DC announced that their titles going into June would be fully returnable, but also mentioned that they are doing digital, so he cried about being betrayed by a "partner."
Looks like he won.

>>114000366 A very prominent retailer based in San Francisco. He does early breakdowns of the Neilson bookscan numbers, and has a semi-regular column on comicsbeat.
He was one of the retailers who fought for changes to be made to the Final Order Cutoff rules back in the day. Previously retailers could only raise orders, not lower them.
Hibbs was raising hell with other retailers against DC earlier this week.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>114000718 >>114000366 He also successfully sued Marvel back in 2005.
https://www.sfgate.com/business/article/Take-that-mighty-Marvel-2566256.php >The case centered on returns of unsold comics. Typically, a comic-book retailer buys his inventory at a wholesale price of as much as 55 percent off the roughly $3 cover price. >In return for that discount, the retailer agrees to swallow any unsold copies. But Marvel, as with other leading comic publishers, previously made allowances for returns under certain circumstances (the contract has since been changed). >One such circumstance, according to the company's former agreement with sellers, was to take back all unsold copies if a particular issue arrived late in stores. >Another was if different writers or artists ended up working on a specific comic instead of the ones promoted in advance to readers -- a key point for collectors. >Hibbs said he started noticing in 2000 that some lesser-known Marvel titles were arriving late to his store on a fairly routine basis. Then the tardiness expanded to the company's biggest names, including Spider-Man and the X-Men. >"This started becoming a big issue," Hibbs said. "When a comic doesn't ship when someone's expecting it, people will spend their money on another title. We were starting to see unsold books really mounting up." >The way it's supposed to work, he said, is that the distributor of the comics will enclose a return form with the next shipment for any unsold issues resulting from a late delivery or editorial changes. But Hibbs said no return forms were ever included for Marvel titles. >Hibbs found an attorney who saw merit in his case and, in 2002, filed a class-action lawsuit against the New York publishing house. A settlement was reached in August 2004. >Under the terms of the settlement, more than 5,000 comic-book sellers are eligible for a credit toward future Marvel purchases to cover a percentage of losses incurred between January 1998 and March 2003. Different kind of request anon; I am hoping that some of you could help me find some web original content. 1) - There was a series that was a fanfic spinoff of SailorMoon that had a future where-in a ship of cat-like people landed and was incorporated into earth life. The beings from the dark dimension / Dark Kingdom had gone semi-legitimate and there was a government agency that recruited girls (and a few boys) to be Magical Girls to fight for Love and Justice and the whole bit. Another element was that a mutagenic hair dye resulted in people having hair wild colourful hair.

Since it doesn't seem there will be much new stuff for a while, I guess it'd be a good time to list what hasn't been ripped yet. I'll look through publishers and survey what is missing and give a comprehensive list. Since there is a Legendary sale, here are the books that haven't been ripped yet: A Town Called Dragon v01, Annihilator v01, Black Bag v01, Epochalypse v01, Firebrand v01, Godzilla- Aftershock, Lost in Space: Countdown to Danger v02-03, Pacific Rim: Aftermath v01, Pacific Rim- Amara v01, Pacific Rim: Tales from the Drift v01, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu- The Official Movie Adaptation, Shadow Walk, Spectral- Ghosts of War, The Great Wall: Last Survivor, The Infinite Adventures of Jonas Quantum v01, The Tower Chronicles Book Two: DreadStalker v01-02, Trick r' Treat: Days of the Dead Also, it seems that some indie's on CMX that were doing DRM free comics before have stopped doing them a little more frequently than usual. Likely due to the virus. Too bad because I would have bought them on sale but I guess they don't really need the money right now.

Death arrives in this darkly humorous and brilliantly illustrated tale created by Nicholas Gurewitch, author of The Perry Bible Fellowship Almanack! Death becomes a patient of a recently bereaved psychoanalyst. The topic of discussion? His frolicsome child, who has no apparent interest in grim reaping! Featuring an unfathomable number of lines which have been hand chiseled into inked clay, this labor of love by Nicholas Gurewitch invokes the morbid humor of his comic strip (The Perry Bible Fellowship) and the spooky silent-film qualities of the late Edward Gorey (Dark Horse: 45 pages).

Lupus Lablennorre is a man on the run. Like a cosmic Odysseus, he wanders from planet to planet, haunted by his past and orbiting around a woman. It starts as a fishing trip with his ex-military pal Tony. Their lifelong friendship has started to feel different lately, and not just because of the drugs. Picking up Sanaa, a wealthy and mysterious runaway, only complicates the situation. When tragedy strikes and they’re forced to flee, new worlds await with many ways to disappear. But Lupus will find that the tendrils of friendship, love, and family are not so easily severed. Armed with astonishingly expressive brushwork and a dreamy, intimate narrative, Frederick Peeters drifts on the solar winds to a new understanding of memory, guilt, isolation, and connection (Top Shelf: 385 pages).

At some point I want to jump into 2000 AD and Judge Dredd Comics as I haven't read a single one. I also just transferred Star Trek/Star Wars Comics to my phone, gonna give those a shot. the saddest part about this is that Marvel and DC comics employees continue to attack potential paying comic shop customers at the worst possible time. As if the shops didn't have enough to deal with. They can't go to work, they can't receive product. Meanwhile Marvel, DC, and Diamond have yet to respond with a real plan. The clock is ticking on this industry, but you wouldn't know that based on the behavior of some of the 'creatives" in the industry. Is this how Comic Book retailing ends?

You can get direct assistance, develop a rapport with enthusiastic employees, learn more about what's available, and even learn about local events. Basically the benefits of /co/ without any of the 4chan-ness.
But Diamond is shit. Diamond deserved to die 30 years ago, and continues to be a shitty way to distribute comics to the brick & mortar stores. It holds a monopoly on comics, but not a "legal" monopoly, because it classifies them as "collectibles" or "periodicals," and Diamond isn't the only distributor of THOSE things. If, somehow, Diamond can collapse while the LCS's remain open and viable and able to receive new shipments of physical copies every week, maybe something good can come out of this travesty.

the comic artists are continuing to insult fans, just when they need them most! The comic book industry is doomed. Long live Independent comics and manga! the comic industry could learn something from Manga, for manga incorporates many types of characters, including strong women chatacters to create an exciting story! Most of all though the comic industry can learn about respectful customer service. And somehow Manga is rising in sales. Shows that the Japanese are doing something right

the stupidity and debauchery of the “creatives” of this industry is nothing less than astounding. These hateful, out-of-touch divas need to be collecting cans on the side of the road for a living. It’s tragic for the comic shop owners only. It honestly seems like DC, Marvel and Diamond are using this an opportunity to cut out the middle man (comic book shops/ physical retail) and are chasing digital distributions. Too bad it isn't going to work since people will just pirate all of that shit. It also doesn't help that the comic industry is stacked with bottom barrel liberal arts reject. These comic writers and artist produce below average material; no one is going to spend their hard earned money buying this crap, especially when you have other media competing for customers. The lack of professionalism is absolutely mind boggling and would be an HR and PR nightmare for any legitimate company. No self-respecting company would associate with people that are constantly arguing with the public, much less paying customers. This comics biography of one of the greatest sculptors who ever lived is done with the collaboration of the Rodin Museum and includes a preface by its director. It views his life through the eyes of the three women who shared his life for good or for bad. One was his lifelong on and off companion, the other two his muses, one of which was Camille Claudel, a well-recognized sculptor herself. Rodin’s work was revolutionary in conveying exceptional passion, transcending the stone. Here’s how that happened (NBM: 111 pages).

All these questions and more are answered in a chronological journey from ancient times to modern Quantum Theory, with creators Margreet and Yiri as your witty guides. A great comic book for anyone who wants to learn in a fun way the bigger framework of science, or brush up on what they learned in school (NBM: 185 pages).

The author of the bestselling Discovery in Comics series, including on Science and Philosophy, tackles a very sensitive subject. Dealing with religion often means walking on eggshells - that is what comic artist Margreet de Heer finds out in this book in which she presents the five major religions and modern spirituality in a colorful, personal yet serious manner. She explores religious history and practices with tact and an open mind, but can't prevent a few eggs from breaking. Why is religion such a sensitive subject?
This book in comics is fun and informative for believers, non-believers and everyone in between. It offers a fresh look from different perspectives on the phenomenon of religion, the backgrounds and history of the five major world religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) and makes the point that religion is something that should unite us, not drive us apart (NBM: 122 pages).

Love is a many-splendored thing, as comic artist Margreet de Heer has found out through several relationships and her marriage to fellow artist Yiri. How to describe it? Is love passion, stability, friendship, or all of the above? In this comics exploration, the author investigates different aspects of love: is there really such a thing as finding The One? What happens in the brain when we fall in love? How can we keep long-term love? What to do about a broken heart? Margreet herself seems to have found her ideal partner in Yiri, but after so many years of marriage, how about that Seven Year Itch? This book deals with many aspects of love, sex and relationships in a light-hearted, playful and often thought-provoking manner and is a fun and informative read for anyone who is in love or planning to be (NBM : 122 pages).

Since we don't have new comics maybe some rippers will be interested in uploading some missing issues. Human Target (1999) issues #1-4 and Human Target (2003-2005) issues #1-6 are not ripped in HD yet. Thanks in advance

>>114051614 >Hyde and Closer Booster isn't really ripping many books nowadays although he was around early in this thread since he's on lockdown in the UK. He used to rip books when someone else bought them by using access to the other person's CMX account, so it may be that the person that bought this didn't want to continue with it, or if Booster paid for it himself (or got it as a first issue free from Viz) he didn't want to continue with it himself.
People have asked about this since 2017 so it's looks like your SOL, son, unless you want to start begging when the manga rippers show up on Mondays and see if that works (or
buy it yourself ).
