Rebecca Sugar has disgusting morals. She teaches that feeling sad and/or having trauma is a free pass to committing abhorrent crimes which you absolutely don't have to take responsibility for. This applies to Lapis, the Diamonds, Spinel, Jasper sometimes and even the main character Steven in the series fucking finale, he didn't answer for anything he did, is he gonna tell his therapist he killed someone and then attempted to kill another person? He didn't issue an apology for his actions and instead he just runs away in the end. They spent all season building up this breakdown but it is solved with a warm fuzzy hug and then Stevens actions are never even brought up again.
