I'm trying to put my finger on what bugged me about Onward...
I think the main thing is that it was consistently "fine" but never more than "fine," when a concept like "magical creatures have normalized into a modern setting, and then there's A Quest" should produce really great material.
That and the fact that Ian Lightfoot's design is just so damn unremarkable.
