>>113932372As far as the story goes, this feels more like a real movie than other recent Chinese efforts. The title star is charismatic, and some of the visual humor actually works. But the downside, as with most Chinese CGI films, is that it's shot like a videogame, with Mario 64-style tethered camera work, lots of senseless explosions and lights, Snyder-esque gimmicky slowdowns and speedups, and just horrendous cinematography all around. It's tasteless, without restraint, and derivative, with a finale that is almost identical to White Snake.
For Chinese CGI films, you can do a lot worse than Nezha. But that still doesn't make it good.
