Which publisher has more luck introducing new characters, DC or Marvel? When I think good new DC characters, I think Jessica Cruz, Sideways, Silencer, and the entire Justice League of China, whereas with Marvel I can only think of Kamala Khan and Robbie Reyes. Then of course when you start listing the bad, Batman Who Laughs and Knull come to mind (not to mention the shit that got announced and spammed the past two days).

So lets talk about new characters, what makes them work, and what publishers should take notes on when moving forward
