"I just need to help Steven to get us out of here!" Connie begs below her confused mother. Steven can barely hold the corrupted fusion at bay.
"Mother knows best!" a confused, but adamant Dr. Maheswaran chides back at her child while keeping the bag, and Rose's sword, just out of arms reach. The shadow through the glass behind her surges its waves of projected flesh through the hospitals viewing glass behind, steel wiring snapping with a soft twang. A hand on each arm, a grip on her head, and a powerful hold on either side of her waist from the many-limbed beast was more than enough the set the frightened child into hysterics.
"Mom!"
"Connie!" Steven yelled as he thought she might hurt. But a moments distraction was all the monster assailing him needed to grasp and ankle with a rampant hand. "Whoa-" Steven barely got out as the gem whipped him to the side. White dust billowed from the impact of Steven through the drywall. He might be tough enough to survive it, but the steel reinforcement hitting his head knocked him out cold.
"Steven!"
"Connie!" Dr. Maheswaran screams as she scrabbles for her daughter before her daughter is wrenched out of the room into the opposing wall. Once, twice, thrice. Maybe more but if they happened then Connie can't recall. But everything is thrown into sharp relief as the mutant fusion stops slamming her and begins pulling her apart.
She feels her left arm become taught as stretched string before feeling it pop with a sound that is swallowed by the pain that follows. And it keeps on pulling.
"Get your hands off my daughter!" Screams a bloodied Maheswaran mother as she levels Connie's sword at the thing assaulting her daughter. "Let her go!"
Connie wants to say something, tell her mom to lower her stance, don't leave the blade up high, but the monster charges and she goes with it.
The sword fall like it was held by a butcher, halfway through the Fusion, halfway through the daughter.
