Either Netflix wasn't willing to pay extra for that stuff, or Nick wanted to keep their hands on the property on the offchance that it actually took off, but without the risks involved in supporting it themselves.

But acting like funding more of the show is a no-brainer is silly. I don't know exactly how popular Glitch Techs has proven to be so far, but it's certainly no runaway success, and it's unbelievably difficult to animate. Two of the many animation studios that worked on it shut down with GT as their last project, and I kind of doubt that working on the show was unrelated (one of them wound up having to drop GT before they later shut down). One former animator described it as "trying to get feature-quality animation on a series-level budget."
IF we got more seasons, I'd be pretty surprised if they maintained quite the same level of animation quality. They might even have to simplify some designs a bit. But honestly even if it took a dip, it'd still look better than any other cartoon currently airing.
