>>113263548The problem with this type of justification is that it doesn't do what Miles was "meant" to be, it doesn't give black kids who want to "be" Spider-Man a Spider-Man of their own, it gives them another black kid who wants to be Spider-Man. It's just further cementing that they can never actually be Spider-Man since even in fiction, the most a black kid can be, even with the powers and the universe working in their favor, all they can be is a guy pretending to be the real Spider-Man. The worst part is that there's no fixing this, since it's a flawed concept from the start.
