>>113175559>That’s fine but it’s not accurate to something like say, silver age stuff that’s more cartoony. Its not, but it still kept all the essentials from said silver age.
>Batman's backstory>He uses gadgets>His look(Only black instead of blue)>And his code of ethics on killingThe character is different, but it is accurate. Not 1-1, but if someone renamed Batman in Begins, everyone would immediately be able to point out he's just Batman. Could anyone do this with Canary? They sure as hell couldn't with Cass.
>Superheroes are designed for that mediumWork pretty well in film too. Thor managed just fine despite being outlandish.
>Spandex for one doesn’t look as nice in live action. Good thing Canary wears stockings and a leather onepiece+Jacket? Not this one though, but I'm sure a... yellow shirt works fine. Yes, yellow, the staple of Black Canary.
> I’m just curious what you would enjoy more.Well then probably the latter, because I like these characters and want to see them accurately portrayed. Hellboy is a good example, it had scenes from the original material, but it also ruined many relationships like the one with his father. Hellboy, the character, was more accurately portrayed by Ron Pearlman, just because the dialog and setting fit his character. Even got his coat and fucking awesome gun right. If this actress had a script that made her like Black Canary, well then she'd probably have to be in a different movie because it wouldn't fit at all. And that's the problem. If you just change her name, just her name thats all not a single scene, what really is there to make her more Black Canary than, say, Sindel from Mortal Kombat?
That there is a better, more fun version out there is just the twist of the knife to make an already unenjoyable character downright distasteful. Her character sucked, her action scenes sucked, and she just wasn't a good actress, and a worse canary.
