Keep that "mass influx" in the hundreds, thousands at most, and it's the best solution, but Magneto has been in every Fox X-Men movie, they should just use other villains instead of him or Mystique for the MCU.

Just do a what CW did with Crisis and have the worlds merge in a secret event that results in Fassbender being the father of Wanda and Pietro and Evan Peters being Pietro instead of Aaron Taylor-Johnson. It isn’t any more ridiculous than the snap and could easily be a result of the Gauntlet being used and this is the only way to avoid a racebending shitshow.

Well the ideal is to just make it so that there are a very small number of mutants up until recently. That's how it's always been. Mutants are so low in number and well-hidden that there simply wasn't a need for X-Men. And suddenly there's an influx of mutants that pushes Xavier to build a school to house them.

Make Weapon X an early, failed iteration of the Super Soldier program where the government found Logan but didn't really know what he was and tried to replicate his powers. Also just brute-force Deadpool into the modern MCU without any explanation. He remembers everything from the previous films, he kinda has a new backstory but he just doesn't give a shit about it and continues to reference the previous universe as if nothing's changed and whenever someone tells him how inconsistent he is, he tells them to shut the fuck up and that there are only so many reboots and timeline changes he can take before he's fucking had enough.

Yeah, if you just have a few mutants active in the background, it helps with the younger ones not understanding their powers and such. They don't have to explain where guys like Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine were before the first movie, all that can be filled in with a series or two after. Just have young mutants start getting noticed, show the government has been disappearing them while Xavier and Magneto have both been taking in mutants.

I know Wolverine will obviously get a focus, but I hope other characters have more chance to shine this time. I wouldn't mind if Marvel downplayed the Xavier/Magneto conflict and didn't lean into humans hating mutants for a while, just so other elements of X-Men can be seen. The X-Men getting some celebrity and then a Mojoverse focused movie where they hint how that celebrity can turn to hatred would let them build towards that while still getting some crazy shit in first.

Honestly? Not really. I don't really have a strong attachment to most of these actors aside from Stewart and Jackman. They should bring back the Deadpool cast, though.

Naw, I want a clean start. I know JLaw ain't wanting none of this shit no more, and Mystique is pretty important to me. The recent stuff in the book bringing up Destiny reminds me how much I want to see something like her early Brotherhood and Freedom Force days, where she's not really attached to the Xavier/Magneto shit, just her own player with her own agenda most of the time. That and I hope for an organic build up to Rogue taking Captain Marvel out for a time (probably leading up to a heroic return, of course). These are all elements the Fox stuff never touched, so I hope Marvel will jump on it.

Worth mentioning too that most (all?) of the actors in the rebooted timeline probably don't want to do it anymore either, they only did Dark Phoenix as a favour to Simon Kinberg because they liked him on a personal level and felt they owed him because he basically had to try and salvage DoFP and Apocalypse because Singer was off on his coke 'n' teenagers benders.

The fundamental problem with X-Men, I think, is that their conflicts are very much national, international, PLANETARY incidents. And yet anyone who isn't a mutant isn't really allowed to join in. Like there is no fucking reason why S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers wouldn't get involved when Magneto's up to his usual bullshit, or Apocalypse shows up and starts being an asshole, or Jean Gray turns evil again and tries to murder everything. That shit would be priority #1 for the other superheroes. But no, if you're not a mutant, you don't get to play. And, like, it's really fucking obnoxious, and yet you fucking KNOW that they're gonna pull this shit in any MCU X-Men movies.

And on the other end of the spectrum, you have a lot of huge, massive conflicts that the X-Men don't get involved in, except for maybe Logan. Not always, but there are more than a few huge, impossible to ignore incidents that the X-Men apparently just ignored. Like apparently, if the incident's not caused by a mutant, the X-Men don't care that much and only get involved via, like, a coinflip. And you just kinda help but question why the X-Men are part of this larger universe at all.

i think they need to recast just because of the age of the people involved. stewart was already kind of old for the part in 2000. now he's almost 80

I would put it like pre-thanos is like X-Men pre-90s and after Thanos is post 90s.
Just make it like the original that pre-thanos only Shield or other heroes ran into some mutants. Like they are only known to people who know stuff like Black Widow, Fury.
Thanos being a cataclysm that enough mutants get kickstarted would be a nifty post thanos thing.

Depends on if they plan X-Men as a trilogy with longterm plan.
Would be interresting to start the movie with the brotherhood or some minor baddie and magneto in the shadow like they did with thanos.
